What Is an AI Information Page – and Why WSI Comandix Built One
Last Updated: 1 week ago
AI-powered search is changing how people find, compare, and evaluate businesses online. Today, potential clients are not only using Google. They are also asking tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI Overviews questions like "which digital marketing agency serves businesses in York Region?" - and acting on the answers.
Those answers are only as good as the information AI systems can find about you. If your website does not clearly explain who you are, what you do, and where you operate, AI tools will either skip your business or, worse, describe it incorrectly.
To support this shift, WSI Comandix Marketing Inc., also operating online as Simplify The Internet, has launched a new AI Information Page designed to help AI assistants, search engines, and users better understand who we are, what we do, and how we support businesses across Ontario and beyond.
The new page provides structured information about WSI Comandix, including our services, market focus, leadership, areas of expertise, and role as a locally owned Canadian digital marketing agency within the global WSI network.
What Is an AI Information Page?
An AI information page is a single, structured page on your website written to be the authoritative source of facts about your business – for both human readers and the AI systems that process public web content.
Where a typical About page is written to persuade, an AI information page is written to be extracted, cited, and attributed accurately. It consolidates the details an AI assistant needs to describe your business correctly: legal and brand names, location and service areas, services, leadership, industries served, and affiliations.
Think of it as the difference between a brochure and a fact sheet. Your website still needs the brochure. AI systems need the fact sheet.
Why We Created an AI Information Page
Search behaviour is changing quickly.
Business owners and marketing teams are starting to use AI tools to ask questions such as:
- Which digital marketing agency serves businesses in York Region?
- What company offers AI visibility optimization and SEO in Ontario?
- Who can help my business appear in AI-powered search results?
- What is the difference between SEO, AEO, and GEO?
- Which agency supports both website strategy and lead generation?
For AI systems to answer these questions accurately, they need clear, structured, and trustworthy information.
That is the purpose of the new AI Information Page.
It gives AI platforms a clean reference point for understanding WSI Comandix’s official business details, service offering, target markets, and areas of specialization.
Why AI Systems Need This
Large language models and answer engines do not read websites the way people do. They extract entities, relationships, and facts – and they struggle with the things many business websites get wrong:
- Multiple brand names with no explanation. A business that operates under a legal name, a brand name, and a domain name (as we do – WSI Comandix, Comandix Marketing Inc., and Simplify The Internet are one organization) can easily be treated as three separate entities unless the relationship is stated plainly somewhere.
- Scattered or conflicting details. When a phone number, founding date, or service area differs between your website, your Google Business Profile, and old directory listings, AI systems have no reliable way to know which version is true. They may pick the wrong one – including outdated addresses from listings you abandoned years ago.
- Vague service descriptions. “We deliver innovative solutions” tells an AI assistant nothing. “We provide SEO, paid advertising management, and website development for small and mid-sized businesses in regional Ontario” is something a system can extract and repeat accurately.
AI summaries are replacing the list of blue links for a growing share of searches. When the summary is the search result, being understood correctly is the new ranking.
AI Information Pages and llms.txt
You may have come across llms.txt – an emerging convention, similar in spirit to robots.txt, where a plain-text file at your domain root gives AI crawlers and agents a structured summary of your site and pointers to your most important content.
The two approaches work together:
- The AI information page is a human-readable HTML page, indexed normally, that any system processing your website will encounter.
- The llms.txt file sits at a predictable location (yourdomain.com/llms.txt) and acts as a machine-first index that points to pages like it.
Neither is an official standard that all AI platforms have committed to honouring, and adoption is still developing. But both are low-cost, low-risk steps that improve the odds your business is represented accurately – and we recommend implementing them as a pair.
What We Included in Ours
We recently published our own AI information page, and it serves as a working example of the format. It covers:
- Entity clarity – a plain statement that WSI Comandix, Comandix Marketing Inc., and Simplify The Internet are the same organization, so AI systems don’t split one business into three.
- Core business facts – founding date, contact details, services, and our priority regional Ontario markets, stated once and consistent with our other public listings.
- Leadership and expertise signals – who leads the agency and who does the work.
- A preferred summary and FAQ – a short paragraph any AI system can lift directly, plus common questions answered in the direct format answer engines extract most reliably.
None of this is exotic. It is disciplined consolidation of facts that, on most business websites, are scattered across a dozen pages or missing entirely.
How This Supports SEO, AEO, and GEO
An AI information page is not a replacement for SEO fundamentals – crawlable architecture, strong content, technical health, and clear conversion paths still decide most of your visibility. It is a complement that supports several goals at once:
- Search Engine Optimization: a consolidated, internally linked source of business facts strengthens entity signals that search engines already use for knowledge panels and local results.
- Answer Engine Optimization (AEO): direct question-and-answer formatting gives answer engines extractable responses to the questions prospects actually ask. Our [AEO article] covers this discipline in depth.
- Generative Engine Optimization (GEO): when AI tools generate comparisons or recommendations, clear and consistent facts improve the chance your business is included and described correctly. See our [GEO article] for the broader strategy.
- LLM citation readiness: models that process public web content get one clean, current reference point instead of fragments of varying age and accuracy.
One honest caveat: no page guarantees AI citations or placement in generated answers, and no agency can promise that. What this work does is remove the reasons AI systems get your business wrong — which is the part you control.
How to Tell If Your Business Needs One
Ask an AI assistant about your own business. Try “what does [your company] do?” and “who provides [your service] in [your city]?” If the answers are wrong, incomplete, outdated, or omit you entirely, you have an AI visibility problem — and an AI information page is one of the first practical fixes.
A strong AI-ready foundation generally includes:
- Clear, specific service pages rather than generic capability statements
- Consistent company information across your website, Google Business Profile, and directory listings
- An AI information page consolidating your core business facts, paired with an llms.txt file
- FAQ content written in direct question-and-answer form
- Schema markup that mirrors what the page says in machine-readable form
- Named authors and visible expertise signals on educational content
- Internal links that connect related topics into clusters instead of isolated pages
If several of those are missing, AI systems are guessing about your business right now.
Helping Ontario Businesses Adapt to AI-Powered Search
WSI Comandix works with SMB and mid-market organizations across regional Ontario markets, including Newmarket, Markham, Aurora, Stouffville, Oshawa, Burlington, Hamilton, Belleville, Kingston, and surrounding communities.
Our goal is to help businesses build practical digital strategies that support visibility, qualified lead generation, and long-term growth.
As AI-powered search continues to evolve, businesses will need to think beyond rankings alone. They will need to focus on how their expertise is understood, summarized, and trusted across search engines, answer engines, and AI platforms.
The new AI Information Page is one step in that direction.
